This stunning home in Kailua-Kona added 70 feet of our spectacular motorized, full retention shades on their west-facing lanai. The massive Center shade, done with one single seamless fabric panel is 30 feet long… the first down to you Football fans. We have the product and experience to handle spans up to 36 feet long with one single shade! This has drastically increased the comfort and enjoyment for this incredibly satisfied owner.

With the 95% Solar fabric not only does it cut down on the amount of sunlight coming in but it acts as an amazing privacy screen!

Here is the view from inside… looking out through their new shades. This outdoor entertainment area is now perfectly usable during the hottest days with direct sun. Previously, the owners could only use this area after the sun had set.  The Screen when fully retracted hides itself away and it dissapears from view!

December 2019 – Westin Hapuna Beach: High Wind Umbrellas

We designed the layouts and provided the 27 High Wind Umbrella Structures for the two pool areas at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. These Structures are built to handle Hawaii’s fierce trade winds and provide a large shade footprint of a massive thirteen by thirteen feet each!

KEAWAKAPU HOME, MAUI – PUTTING GREEN PROJECT

As Maui representative for Southwest Greens Hawaii, we recently completed a large putting green and artificial turf project for a homeowner on beautiful Keawakapu Beach. The process took several days, including the removal of the existing lawn (we reused the material at another location), surface preparation and precise fitting of the material into the existing landscape.

FRIENDS OF THE CHILDREN’S JUSTICE CENTER OF MAUI

SkyShades Hawaii reclaimed the neglected space behind the Children’s Justice Center of Maui to create a play area and meeting space for this important community facility. A retractable awning now provides shade and synthetic turf with Hydrochill infill will keep it looking good and comfortable underfoot for the keiki and their families that use this facility.

COZY COCOON FOR MEO HEADSTART FACILITY LAHAINA

SkyShades Hawaii provided a Cozy Cocoon for the MEO Headstart Facility in Lahaina to start off their new school year.      This unique piece of equipment provides a comfy inside area and it also revolves to encourage movement, teamwork and social interaction for the preschoolers.

A NEW PLAYGROUND FOR PUKALANI ELEMENTARY

Congratulations to Pukalani Elementary School on their ‘refurbished’ PLAYWORLD SYSTEMS Playground. Designed by SKY SHADES HAWAII and installed by RVS Construction. It includes a Cozy Cocoon, Playwood roofs and a Nuvo Spiral Slide. We were able to save costs by reusing all of the old columns and designing a new playground to fit the existing site dimensions.

THE ANDAZ MAUI – COOLING TOWER We just completed this project, which required creativity and customization to solve the client’s view problem and stand up to the weather elements. The remodel of the old Wailea Beach Resort  into a modern Andaz (Hyatt) Hotel required some way to cover the view of the Cooling Tower Units which were visible upon entry to the Resort. We fabricated aluminum columns, and with our partner RVS Construction, mounted them onto the wall and secured 150 feet of fabric panels to block the view.  Done just in time to be tested by Tropical Storm Flossie… it came through without incident!

KaBOOM! PLAYGROUND – WINDWARD YMCA (KAILUA) More than 200 volunteers broke a KaBOOM record on Saturday May 25th, by building playgrounds at the Windward YMCA in Kailua in less than 4 1⁄2 hours! With Playworld Systems equipment for the two play structures and stand alone pieces, this is the third playground built for the Hawaii YMCA by the national organization KaBOOM. Starting from children’s drawings of their “dream playground,” and sponsored by Disney, the volunteers were from the YMCA, the Armed Services, the Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa and the Kailua community.
